Brief History of Ethiopian Addis Kidan Baptist Church (EAKBC)

•  Established in relation to the Southern Baptist  Mission
•  From 1975-1989 worked as a fellowship
•  Organized nationally as a denomination on  September 22, 1989
•  Registered by the government (Ministry of Justice) in 1992

Currently:

•  63 local churches with the the following requirements
  1. 30 newly baptized members
  2. At least three elders
  3. Ability to support at least one full-time employee
  4. Ability to cover meeting place expense
     o 28 newly started church plants
     o 13,000 total members
     o More than nine people groups: Gamo, Benishangul,
        Welayita, Kembata, Hadiya, Oromo, Amhara, Tigrie,
        Guragie
