History

A Brief History of our Ministry

• Established in relation to the Southern Baptist Mission
• From 1975-1989 worked as a fellowship.
• Organized nationally as a denomination on September 22, 1989
• Registered by the government (Ministry of Justice) in 1992

Our Ministry Today

• 96 local churches with the the following requirements
  • 30 newly baptized members
  • At least three elders
  • Ability to support at least one full-time employee
  • Ability to cover meeting place expense
• 38 newly started church plants
• 17,000 total members
• More than nine people groups: Gamo, Benishangul, Welayita, Kembata, Hadiya, Oromo, Amhara, Tigrie, Guragie
